What is Grok Bot
Grok Bot explained without the marketing: what a Bot is, what the shared cloud computer is, what routines and skills are, who can get it, and what it isn't.
Short answerGrok Bot is SpaceXAI's always-on agent product, launched in early beta on 11 August 2026 and built with Cursor. You create named Bots that share a cloud computer, sign into your tools, run routines on a schedule, message each other, and come back to you for approvals. It is not the Grok chatbot, not an API, and not a Windows/Linux app.
The pieces
- Bot. A named agent with a job description. Focused Bots (one theme each) work better than one catch-all.
- Shared computer. One cloud machine per account. All Bots use it; each gets its own screen. Browser sessions, files and logins on it are visible to every Bot. This is the fact most people miss.
- Skill. A reusable set of instructions for how to do a task, saved after a task went well. Skills are available across Bots.
- Routine. A schedule or trigger that runs a workflow on one Bot. Up to 50 per Bot; 20 run records kept each; long-inactive ones pause.
- Approvals. Bots stop and ask before certain actions. You decide which, per routine.
- Plugins/connectors. Account-wide integrations (Gmail, Slack, GitHub…), plus Composio for the long tail.
Who can get it
No standalone plan. Bundled into Cursor and SuperGrok plans; the eligible list has changed since launch. Details.
What it isn't
Not the Grok chatbot (comparison). Not the API (comparison). Not available on Linux. Not capped on spend. Not safe to run on your own logins.
