Grok Bot + Zendesk
How to connect Grok Bot to Zendesk with a Bot-owned account, the routines that work, the one thing to put behind approval, and our verdict.
How a Bot connects
Zendesk API token from an agent seat for the Bot, or via Composio. Trigger-based routines on new/updated tickets.
The Bot's identity
An agent seat with a custom role: read all, comment (internal notes), no public reply without approval, no delete. Don't reuse a human's login. If you did, see shared computer cleanup.
Routines we've run
- On new ticket — classify, draft internal note with suggested response and relevant docs
- Daily — SLA-at-risk tickets: nudge owners
- Weekly — top issues digest for product
Each routine follows the four-part shape: when it runs, what it reads (bounded), what it produces, when it stops. See routines best practices.
The thing to gate
Public replies and macros. Internal notes unattended; public replies with approval, especially on refunds.
Verdict
Strong. Drafting internal notes is safe and cuts first-response time without letting the Bot talk to customers unsupervised.
Setup notes
- Test every routine supervised until it's produced the right output three times.
- Add the routine's completion line to your heartbeat log so silent failures show up.
- Put the Zendesk token in the Bot's connector settings or knowledge file, never in a chat message.
