Can you use Grok Bot on Windows or Linux?

Grok Bot has Windows and macOS desktop apps plus an iPhone app. There is no Linux desktop app. See the official download path and Linux options.

Short answerYes on Windows. Cursor provides Grok Bot desktop apps for Windows x64 and Arm64, plus macOS and iPhone apps. There is no Linux desktop app. Linux users need a supported Windows, Mac or iPhone device to control the Bot, while the Bot's work runs on its cloud computer.

Windows: use the official desktop app

Cursor's current Grok Bot documentation lists two Windows installers: x64 and Arm64. A Windows user does not need a Mac workaround.

Sign in to the Cursor dashboard.
Open the Grok Bot page.
Select Download Grok Bot.
Choose the installer that matches the Windows computer.
Open the app and sign in with the same Cursor account.

There is no separate Grok Bot login. If the product does not appear in the dashboard, check plan eligibility and the account's privacy setting before reinstalling anything.

Linux: there is no desktop app

Cursor's official device list does not include Linux. The practical option is to use a supported Windows or Mac desktop for initial setup and an iPhone for supported day-to-day controls.

The Bot itself works on a persistent cloud computer. Closing the laptop does not stop an active task or routine. The supported device is the control surface for creating the Bot, giving instructions and reviewing work.

Do not use an unofficial Linux build or a macOS virtual machine as the operating plan. You would be depending on an unsupported install for approvals and recovery.

What the iPhone app can and cannot do

The iPhone app requires iOS 18 or later. It can message the Bot, watch work, take over the computer and approve, pause or resume work.

Keep a Windows or Mac desktop available for these jobs:

teaching a new workflow;
editing a routine's schedule or instructions;
viewing routine history;
testing or deleting a routine;
updating the Bot computer.

Verify the install before connecting business data

Create one test Bot and give it a harmless task on a blank file. Confirm that you can watch the work, pause it and resume it from the device the owner will use. Connect company accounts only after those controls work.
